Sophie & David

Our Story

A little bit about us both:

: David and I met in our church 5 years ago in Dublin 8. We have been together for 4 years and got engaged in September 2020.

Our proposal:

We got engaged in the fall of 2020, we had started to come out of lockdown so David planned a day out to Glendalough, a place very dear in both our hearts due to its natural and historic beauty. We went on a walk and David brought me to the the dock on the upper lake. We walked up the centre dock and looked out onto mountains and the lake, there was no else around us. I was standing in front of David and he grabbed my hand and when I turned around he was on one knee. For a moment I though he had fallen until I seen the ring box and suddenly realised what was happening. He spoke lovely words to me and asked me to marry him which I said Yes. A woman was walking above us and seen everything, she captured many photos and a video of our special moment and sent us everything, it was very special.

Our suppliers:

OhFab Creations did our signage for our welcome and the tables

Joey Hey was our DJ

Ann Kelly provided our beautiful flowers

Cake Duchess Studio by Kozeta made our stunning cake

Valentina Diamonds in Powerscourt supplied our rings

Bentley S2 was supplied by Classic & Vintage Car hire

Invitations were designed by ourselves

Our beauty parade:

Tina from Alexandra Bridal in Dublin 1 supplied my wedding dress, accessories, brides maids and flower girl dress.

Make up was from the lovely Kimmy - insta: kimmy_murrayx

Brian Sweeney from Brown Sugar did my hair and the bridesmaids

Something old, something new?

I borrowed my grandmothers bracelet and used it in my bouquet as she was too ill to attend our wedding day

Our Big Day

The ceremony was held in the Hope Centre Armagh Road Crumlin Dublin 12

Our photos were taken on the grounds of Tulfarris as well as the Manor

Perfect by Ed Sheeran and Andrea Bochelli was our first dance

We don't have one moment as our most memorable, we were unbelievably blessed with our day from start to finish. Nothing stood in our way not even COVID. Our wedding day was our most memorable moment.

Post Wedding celebrations:

: We stayed in Tulfarris with family for the Sunday, we had food, drinks and people talked and watched the Liverpool vs Man United game which was great. We left Tulfarris on the Monday and flew off for our honeymoon that afternoon.

Why did we choose Tulfarris?

Wicklow and especially Blessington is both one of our favourite places when we visited the hotel we knew we wanted our wedding here. It had everything we wanted from scenery to interior decor, we both loved it.
