Siobhan & Robert

Our Story

Your Name: Siobhan English

Your Partner's Name: Robert Storey

A little bit about you both:

We are living on our sheep farm just outside Dunlavin, Co Wicklow. We met through our love for horses in October 2014. We knew pretty quickly we had met our soulmates and we moved in together five months later. Our son Robert was born in September 2018.

Tell us a bit about the proposal:

We decided to bypass an engagement! We planned this wedding in just three months. The timing was perfect. Some family were visiting from the States that month so we decided to tie the knot just before our ninth anniversary of being together

Something old, something new?:

I had beautiful blue stones on the soles of my shoes which were from Rainbow Club!

The Big Day:

The ceremony was held in the Poulaphouca Suite, with reception afterwards in the fabulous bar in the Manor House. We chose the five-course menu with beef or salmon as main course. It was one of the best meals we've ever had! The Manor House was just the perfect venue for our small intimate wedding with family and close friends, most of whom stayed either in the Manor House or hotel that night. My brother is a songwriter and played a song he wrote himself for our first dance. Many memorable moments. but I was so glad to have my 90 year old father fit and well to escort me to the ceremony. He was so proud!

Post Wedding celebrations:

We had our mini-moon a few weeks later in Connemara and stayed at the majestic Ballynahinch Castle. We run a busy farm and Airbnb so time is precious. We snuck away on our own for three days.

Why did you choose Tulfarris?:

We chose Tulfarris as it is in the locality and we love supporting local businesses. Honora and Kate were just such a pleasure to deal with in the run-up to the wedding and throughout the day, as were all the team. It made everything so seamless. The location is perfect for weddings, with the Manor House and Hotel side by side. And the grounds are something else!
