Our Story

A little bit about you both:

I'm from Wicklow Town and Cathal is from Rathnew. We meet when we were 20 at the local nightclub!
It feels like a lifetime ago, we were 14 years together when we got married!!

Tell us a bit about the proposal:

It was amazing! We had bought our first home as a family with our little girl Olivia. She came into our bedroom one morning wearing a t shirt, asking me to marry her daddy. The tears started! She took me by the hand to the hallway, where Cathal was on one knee surrounded by rose petals. It was just perfect.
We then went to Cork where we picked my engagement ring. It was such an amazing weekend.

Something old, something new?:

Old was my Vivienne Westwood shoes. They were a birthday present from Cathal.
New was my dress!
Borrowed jewellery
And blue was my Sapphire diamond in my engagement ring!!

The Big Day:

Civil ceremony in The Poulaphuca Suite
We had are amazing photos taken walking down to the lake and in the lake to.
We had beef and Hake. Everyone said the beef was the best they ever had, it was amazing!!

Post Wedding celebrations:

We honeymooned in Santorini, it was the best!!

Why did you choose Tulfarris?:

We went to view Tulfarris in the spring of 2017. Hoping to book our wedding for 5th October 2018.
When we walked into the hotel lobby we loved it. Initially we thought the weddings took place in the hotel. So when we meet Kate and she walked us to the actual wedding location we were sold!!! The Manor House was stunning! And a different location for each part of your day was perfect!! We didn't want a "traditional" hotel wedding but Tulfarris had the best of both, an unique wedding venue and the room for guests to stay!
Having the Manor House for your day is a must. The photos are just stunning! And the bedrooms for your bridal party are just amazing!!!
They whole day went so smooth! Derek, was amazing taking the bridal party over to the ceremony!
If there was something going wrong I would have never have known!! Everything was seamless from start to finish.
