Our Story

A little bit about us both:

We are both from Tallaght Dublin, we met on a blind date arranged by a mutual friend 4 years ago.

Our proposal:

I knew pretty early in our relationship that Suzanne was the right person for me and I felt that she felt the same. We were together about a year and a half when I proposed and I was delighted she sad yes

Our suppliers:

Bridal dress was Dublin bridal house, they couldn’t do enough. Grooms party suits were fitted locally in Dublin formal wear. Flowers were by Aine Ryan, the cake was by Mary at cake day, photos were done by Damian videography & his lovely wife Victoria we were very lucky we found all these through the Facebook page help I’m getting married!

They were all so helpful & accommodating. Our ceremony was done by Marie Barden of spiritual ceremonies Ireland Marie was so supportive & positive through our journey of planning our wedding, it was a roller coaster of a year not knowing if our wedding would go ahead due to Covid even on the day Marie was so calming & did everything she could for us, we are very great full to her. Ceremony music by done by Sandi Hyland & evening music was by friends of the groom Mark & mick

Our beauty parade:

The bride’s dress was by Dublin Bridal house, Sharon and her mother were so helpful and accommodating. The bridesmaid’s dresses were purchased online, we were very lucky that they fitted perfectly and looked so well on the girls. The bridal party’s hair was done by Nadia Brophy and makeup was done by Ellen McQuade, both are good friends of Suzanne.

The groom’s party were outfitted by Dublin formal wear in Tallaght village, the lads in the shop couldn’t have been more helpful.

Our Big Day

We had our ceremony in the Tulfarris ceremony room, the room was decorated beautifully, and even with the restrictions of a small wedding, it was very intimate and personal.

Our photos were taken in many parts of the venue, including the grounds and Manor House. We were very happy with the locations.

There was a good variety available for the meal, we chose the Turkey & Ham and the Beef for our main courses, they were both delicious.

Our first dance was Perfect by Ed Sheerin, it’s a special song for us both.

Our most memorable moment was walking down the aisle as a married couple because it may not have happened due to the pandemic

Post Wedding celebrations:

No, due to Covid all our after wedding plans have been postponed

Why did we choose Tulfarris?

We attended the wedding show in Citywest in January 2020, that’s where we met Honora for the first time. After talking with Honora we arranged to visit the venue. After taking a tour of the facilities with Honora we fell in love with the place and we decided to book our wedding for the 12th of December the same year. When the pandemic hit we were in constantly changing times, Honora helped us through these uncertain times and was a constant support. We visited the hotel on a number of occasions throughout the year and met a lot of the staff, we have to say that on every occasion that we stayed the staff could not do enough for us.

Although sometimes we thought it would never happen, with the help of Honora we did not have to change our date and our big day finally arrived. Right from the start Derek (oppressions manager) was so calming and helpful. He put us at ease and guided us through what turned out to be the best day of both our lives. We could not have asked any more of Derek and his team, they all made our day so special. Compliments have to be given to the kitchen staff as the food was excellent and was commented on by all of our guests. We had originally booked the Manor House for our drinks reception & after in the banquet room but Honora suggested we celebrate the whole day in the Manor House as we had a small wedding due to the restrictions it was a perfect day, our guests had a brilliant day celebrating with us we can’t thank Honora & all the staff at Tulfarris Hotel enough they went above & beyond for us. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone considering their wedding in the future.
