Nicola and Ciarán

Our Story

A little bit about you both:

Myself and Ciarán are both from Dublin. We met at secondary school and have been together for nearly 18 years now. We got engaged in October 2018.

Tell us a bit about the proposal:

We got engaged at the top of the Gap of Dunloe in Co. Kerry. It’s our favourite spot in Kerry and we have so many lovely memories of here over the years. Ciarán popped the question at the very top on a beautiful October day. It was the perfect location. We had the best day that day! Everything was just so special and Ciarán did a great job!

The Big Day:

The ceremony was held at St.Pius X Church, Templeogue.

Followed by our beautiful reception at Tulfarris.

Our first dance was to Paddy Casey - Bend down low. A beautiful song that means a lot to us.

Our entrance song was to David Bowie - Let’s Dance.

My father-daughter dance was also David Bowie - Young Americans (my dad’s favourite Bowie song).

The day was absolutely fantastic - We enjoyed every minute. We were just so glad to share it with close family and friends after all the postponing due to covid. Every one of our guests had a great day and all commented on how relaxing the day was and they really loved the food.

Post Wedding celebrations:

The next day we got to enjoy a lovely breakfast with our guests.

We reserved a spot outside the restaurant for lunch with our immediate family members, followed by a lovely evening meal inside. It’s was very relaxing and a day we will also remember.

Why did you choose Tulfarris?:

We visited many venues for our wedding and once we arrived at Tulfarris, we just knew that this was the place for our big day. It had everything we wanted. The Manor House was absolutely gorgeous and the perfect setting for our reception. The main hotel has plenty of rooms for guests and the wedding staff we met on the day were so lovely and very helpful to us that we just knew it was to be our venue. It has beautiful grounds and is also not too far to travel to from Dublin which is great.

Like any other couple, we had to postpone our day due to covid. The staff at Tulfarris handled this so well. Their communication throughout was brilliant. Honora and the team were always easy to reach and checked in with us regularly to ensure everything was running smoothly. Thank you, guys!
