Our Story

A little bit about us both:

Gareth is from Firhouse and Helen is from Shankill, both from Dublin. We meet 12 years ago on a night out in copper face jacks and have been together ever since.

Our proposal:

We got engaged in Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida. We’ve been a few times and Gareth thought it would be the ideal place to pop the question earlier in the morning while there weren’t any crowds.

Something old, something new?

Something borrowed was a single Pearl necklace provided by my mother-in-law.

Something blue was a new blue iPhone.

Something old - an old coin provided by the groom.

Our Big Day

The ceremony - Tulfarris
Photos were taken on the grounds of Tulfarris.
We went for the 12-hour slow-cooked beef as a main.
Our first dance was X Ambassadors- Hold You Down.
Our most memorable - moment was after the ceremony we were by ourselves walking from the ceremony room around to the reception - we had our first few moments by ourselves as a married couple - we met a woman walking her dog and she asked us to stop and have a look at us and we chatted for few minutes and she said we had made her day and made her smile and it made us both really happy at that moment it was just special.

Post Wedding celebrations:

Unfortunately due to covid second-day plans were muted but thankfully as restrictions have lifted we’ve booked a Mediterranean Crusie for our Honeymoon.

Why did we choose Tulfarris?

We chose Tulfarris for its beautiful scenery and ideal location. After being shown around and given the tour by Kate it was an easy choice.

The team on the day was amazing and Derek went above and beyond and made ensured everything ran smoothly.

The food was excellent and the Manor House is a stunning venue for a small intimate wedding.
