Our Story

A little bit about you both:

We are both from Dublin and met through mutual friends in 2005. After becoming close friends we started dating in February 2006 and have now been together 15 years!

Tell us a bit about the proposal:

Mike proposed on the 26th of August 2020 in Ferns in Wexford, a place that is very special to us both. Despite us being together so long I had no idea he was about to propose and was so surprised!

The Big Day:

Our ceremony was held in St Colmcille's Church in Knocklyon and was officiated by the lovely Fr Joe Mothersill. We had our wedding photos taken on the beautiful grounds of Tulfarris. For our menu, we chose chicken salad, cream of vegetable soup, blackcurrant sorbet, a choice of feather blade of beef or supreme of chicken, followed by an assiette of desserts. The food was outstanding and all of the guests complimented it. Our first dance was to Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers. Our day was perfect from start to finish although it absolutely flew by. One of the standout moments was walking up the aisle to meet at the altar

Post Wedding celebrations:

We decided not to have a second-day event. The day after the wedding we set off on a mini-moon around Ireland for 12 days. We visited Ferns, Kilkenny, Fota Island, Killarney, and Galway and treated ourselves to lovely dinners, some spa treatments, and a lot of prosecco

Why did you choose Tulfarris?:

We had viewed several venues and couldn't agree on one. After visiting Tulfarris we both knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding, and it is quite unusual for both of us to agree on something straight away! The ballroom, the courtyard, and the grounds are just beautiful. Honora and Kate were so helpful and nice to deal with from start to finish, and the staff there on the day could not do enough for us. The service and attention to detail were impeccable, and all of our guests spoke so highly of the venue and the delicious food. We couldn't have asked for better.
