anna & Eoghan

Our Story

A little bit about you both:

We're from Dublin, we met 10 years ago through a mutual friend who did get a mention in the speeches! We've been together 10 years time flies when you're having fun.

Tell us a bit about the proposal:

Eoghan popped the question on the 2nd of March 2019 in Farnham Estate co Cavan. It was very romantic I hadn't a clue! I received a lovely token ring which is very similar to my engagement ring which I picked myself.

What suppliers did you work with?:

The entertainment: The Favours followed by Pro Djs
Cake: Amazing Cakes in Bray
Rings: Bespoke Diamond for our engagement and wedding bands.
Stationery : Lantz Cards Direct Ltd
Flowers: A personal friend who is a florist she works for Massey Bros.
We'd highly recommend all of our suppliers they were an absolute dream to work with and each of them was fantastic!

The beauty parade:

My dress was bought in Elody Bridal Newry. Can't recommend enough a beautiful bridal shop.
The groom and groomsmen all their suits were rented from Bond Brothers Formalwear for men. Brendan is an absolute gem and an expert in his field. The father of the bride and groom also rented their suits from Brendan he's based in Dublin 14.

Something old, Something new:

My something old & borrowed I drank tea from a china cup while getting ready it was my Nannies tea set. My Mam drank from the same china cup on the morning of her own wedding. My new and blue I wore a little lace blue garter under my dress.

The Big Day:

We got married in St Teresa's Parish Donore Avenue Dublin 8. It's my own parish it has a very special place in my heart.
We decided to take the majority of our photos in Tulfarris as the grounds are so beautiful. Our photographer took some photos in both our houses while we got ready and a few in the church after the ceremony.
We chose the featherblade of beef and the hake. The featherblade was the most talked about afterwards by most of our guests. Needless to say we chose well we knew our guests would be in for treat after our menu tasting was fabulous from start to finish!
Our first dance was Frankie Valli ' You're Just Too Good To Be True' one of bridesmaids did a small bit of choreography with us for the first two verses it went down a treat with our guests they weren't expecting it.

I don't think we can pick one, we've so many brilliant memories our church ceremony was really special. The time spent in the Manor House with our guests and our time before we were called was memorable. A lot of guests complimented how stunning the house is, and they're right it's beautiful. We'd a ball dancing the night away with our guests. Our dance floor was full all night I never left the dance floor neither did my husband.

A lot of guests had sore feet the next morning at breakfast so did we signs of a good night. As for our dinner wowzer it was super tasty our guests raved about the feather blade , very little night time grub was left another great sign all down to the wonderful kitchen staff and chefs you really blew it out of the park.

Every aspect of our day went so smoothly it was fantastic from start to finish, we honestly had so much fun celebrating with our nearest and dearest in such a stunning venue. It was the best day of our lives. Tulfarris was everything we could of dreamed of and more. Spending time together getting our photos taken just us two, and with our families and friends it was also very special. Thank you Tulfarris for everything it truly is a superb venue we'd the best day of our lives. Honora, Kate, Derek, every staff member is super professional and very friendly nothing is too much trouble. All of our guests had a brilliant day too!

Post Wedding celebrations:

We didn't know some of our close family and friends stayed on with us for a 2nd we'd a lovely relaxing day reminiscing about the previous day. We'd some lovely food in the main bar in the evening time.
We're just home from a beautiful stay in a 5 star resort in Lanzarote just what the doctor ordered after a busy few weeks.

Why did you choose Tulfarris?:

We chose Tulfarris as we wanted a nearby location from Dublin, we mainly didn't want our guests to have to travel a great distance after our ceremony. Tulfarris is simply stunning the grounds are fabulous, frankly we found it hard to beat when viewing other venues. The setting is beautiful although it's only a 45 minute drive from Dublin you would think you are further away. The food is so tasty and yummy so many of our guests commended the food particularly the feather blade it went down a real treat the amount of people who raved about it and rightly so it was delicious.

We'd five courses in total and each course was delicious. Myself and my husband love our grub thank you so much for keeping us full and satisfied. All of the staff from Derek the manager to any serving or bar staff member were an absolute dream , Derek had everything running like clockwork it was very impressive, he is super nice an absolute gent thank you Derek. My husband is coeliac so gluten free, Tulfarris blew this out of the park they were outstanding and all of our coeliac guests were very satisfied - thank you for showing this care and attention to detail it really means a lot! The overall service was impeccable and the accommodation is very modern and super comfy I can't fault any of it. A special thanks to Honora and her wonderful team, you guys are amazing no query or question was ever a problem.

More importantly your turnaround time was super please keep doing what you do , you are a delight and you made the whole process stress free and enjoyable. We'd to postpone once due to covid, but Honora and her amazing team really were outstanding, I commend you all and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding day so memorable and really special in so many ways. We both had a ball and we'll be forever grateful.
